ITT’s enhanced software
inspects entire document collections for sensitive information
ROME, N.Y., July 11, 2009 - ITT Corporation (NYSE:ITT)
today announced the release of an advanced version of its PuriFile®
document inspection software. PuriFile software detects and
identifies hidden objects and metadata within Microsoft Office and
PDF files, which could accidentally or maliciously disclose
sensitive information or confidential digital assets. These types
of documents have numerous opportunities for holding data not easily
discovered during normal inspection and release procedures.
The latest version, PuriFile v3.4, brings additional functionality
to the product line by allowing for simple batch inspection of
entire document collections via a new stand-alone client application
named PuriFile Explorer. PuriFile v3.4 also provides a streamlined
installation process and extended inspection functionality for PDF
files. Through an ongoing effort resulting from the 2008 purchase
of an Enterprise License by the U.S. Department of Defense, PuriFile
v3.4 has extended support for custom Active Directory environments.
ITT’s PuriFile document inspection capability is presently
integrated with several commercial and government sponsored cross
domain solutions, which are used to handle data loss prevention and
security issues between networks operating at different
classification levels as information is exchanged. The PuriFile
Explorer application extends the product line's core functionality
to handle data at rest.
